Yangmingshan Cherry Blossom Festival Transportation Information
Public Transportation
- MRT Tamsui-Xinyi Line: Get off at Shipai Station, then transfer to Bus S8 or 128
- MRT Tamsui-Xinyi Line: Get off at Beitou Station, then transfer to Bus S9 or 129
- MRT Tamsui-Xinyi Line: Get off at Jiantan Station, then transfer to Bus Red 5, 260 (Zhongzheng/Flower Clock Line), or 1717 and get off at Yangmingshan Bus Terminal. Walk about 20 minutes along Hushan Road.
- Taipei Main Station: Take Bus 260 (Zhongzheng Line or Flower Clock Line) directly to Yangmingshan.
Parking Information
Limited parking near Yangming Park. Recommended to park at lower areas and take a shuttle bus up the mountain.

Yangmingshan Cherry Blossom Introduction
Cerasus kanzakura
Description: A hybrid of mountain cherry and Japanese cherry, one of the earliest blooming cherry varieties, usually blooming from late January to early February.
Color: Light pink with delicate petals, single-layered blossoms, exuding a soft and elegant beauty.
Features: Strong cold resistance and symbolizes the arrival of spring.
Mountain Cherry
Description: Also known as Hikan cherry, this is Taiwan’s native cherry species, commonly found in low to mid-altitude mountain areas across the country.
Color: Deep pink to red, vivid and eye-catching, single-petaled flowers.
Features: Blooms in mid-February with dense clusters of flowers, embodying Taiwan’s floral essence.
Double-Flowered Cherry
Description: Named for its multiple layers of petals, making it one of the most luxurious cherry blossom species, commonly seen around Yangmingshan.
Color: Mainly pink with many layers of petals, double-flowered blossoms.
Features: Full and lush appearance, resembling fluffy flower balls when in bloom, usually blooming in late February.
Japanese Showa cherry
Description: Originating from Japan, this variety is often used in landscape gardening and is well-suited for low-altitude regions such as Yangmingshan and Alishan.
Color: Bright pink or light red with five petals, single-layered and elegant.
Features: Its branches spread widely, and its petals appear long and separated when fully bloomed. Flowers bloom from late February to early March.
Japanese Yoshinu cherry
Description: One of the most well-known cherry blossom species worldwide, widely cultivated in Japan and Taiwan, including Yangmingshan, Alishan, Tamsui Tianyuan Temple, and Sun Link Sea.
Color: Pale pink to pure white, single-layered petals, exuding a romantic charm.
Features: Usually blooms in early March, with tree crowns fully covered in blossoms, resembling a snowy landscape.

1. Yangming Park

MRT: Take Tamsui-Xinyi Line to Beitou Station or Shipai Station, then transfer to Bus S8, S9, or 128.
